Brannan Island State Recreation Area is northeast of San Francisco Bay.  A maze of waterways wind through the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.  Countless islands and marshes with varying wildlife habitats and plenty opportunities for recreation, including boating, windsurfing and swimming can be found in this beautiful natural area.  Brannan Island is on Highway 160 a few miles south of the city of Rio Vista in Sacramento County. The park is located on the lower peninsular extension of Brannan Island, and is surrounded by the Sacramento River on the west, Three Mile Slough on the southeast, and Seven Mile Slough on the northeast.

Brannan Island Campgrounds

This State Recreation Area has several campgrounds with over 120 sites for various types of camping; from walk-in tent sites to RV hook-up sites and even a cabin.   There are 6 group sites for overnight camping for up to 30 people in each and 4 group picnic sites.  Check out the Reservations link for more details.
