PG&E - Drum-Spaulding Watershed

Emigrant Gap Area

PG&E manages campgrounds, picnic areas and fishing access on or near reservoirs used for hydro-electric production in California.  Campgrounds are open to the public for a fee.  American Land & Leisure operates these facilities under a special use permit.  This recreational area includes many small lakes in the Tahoe National Forest near Emigrant Gap northwest of Lake Tahoe.

Bear Valley Group CAMPGROUND

Bear Valley Group will accommodate up to 50 people for overnight camping and 100 people for day use.  Campers enjoy fishing and swimming in the nearby Bear and South Yuba river and Fuller, Rucker and Spaulding reservoirs.

LOWER LINDSEY LAKE CAMPGROUND

The campground on Lower Lindsey Lake is a small, primitive, site.  No drinking water or garbage service is provided.  Pack-it-in/pack-it-out.  12 campsites and vault toilets are provided for first-come-first-served campers to enjoy this stunning location for canoeing and kayaking.

MIDDLE LINDSEY LAKE CAMPGROUND

There is no fee to camp at Middle Lindsey Lake.  Getting there is only half the fun!  For safety reasons, never camp on the beach of a PG&E reservoir.  Lake levels rise and fall quickly according to hydro-electric needs.

Culbertson LakE DISPERSED CAMPING

Culbertson Lake is just south of Bowman Lake and east of Lindsey Lakes.  This is a beautiful area for your off-the-grid adventure.  There is no fee for camping.

Kidd LAKE Group CAMPground

Kidd Lake will accommodate 3 small groups of tent campers of up to 35 people.  One group site is lakeside.  Campers enjoy fishing, swimming and boating (10 mph speed limit) in Kidd Lake and hiking, mountain biking and OHV trails in the surrounding Tahoe National Forest.

Lodgepole CAMPGROUND

Lodgepole Campground provides 35 campsites located just a few miles from Lake Valley Reservoir.  Some sites may be reserved ahead through PG&E.

Lake Spaulding CAMPGROUND

PG&E takes reservations for 14 of the 25 campsites on Lake Spaulding.  Campers enjoy boating, fishing, hiking and sight-seeing around this beautiful lake surrounded by giant granite boulders and thick green forest.

RUCKER LAKE CAMPground

Rucker Lake is just north of Lake Spaulding near I-80.  Vault toilets and a car-top launch for kayaks are provided but there is no boat launch.

BLUE LAKE DISPERSED CAMPING

Campers love the solitude of dispersed camping around Blue Lake.  Dispersed campers practice Leave No Trace principles to keep this area beautiful and available to future generations.  There are no fees for camping.

Meadow LAKE CAMPGROUND

Meadow Lake Campground contains 15 rustic campsites with tables, grills and vault toilets.  Small trailers and campers can be accommodated.   Access to the Fordyce Jeep Trail is nearby.

Meadow Knolls Group CAMPGROUND

Make reservations for up to 25 people in one of these group sites near Meadow Lake.  Campers enjoy hiking, fishing, boating and the nearby Fordyce Jeep Trail.

WHITE ROCK LAKE Dispersed CAMPING

White Rock has 6 primitive campsites along the Mt Lola Trail.  There is no piped water for drinking and no fees for camping.

Sterling LAKE CAMPGROUND

Sterling Lake has 6 campsites on the west side of the lake; on a steep, winding road.  Campers enjoy swimming, fishing and paddle boats.

Carr & Feeley  LAKEs Dispersed CAMPing

Camping on Carr Lake is a short hike from the parking area.  There is no fee for camping in these primitive campgrounds.
