Stanislaus National Forest

There are eight hundred miles of rivers and streams and many serene lakes for you to explore in the Stanislaus National Forest.  The forest is located south of Lake Tahoe and north of Yosemite in the Sierra Nevada.  Easily accessible from Sacramento, Stockton and Modesto, the forest offers recreational opportunities to all.  Select a ranger district below to read about our campgrounds and reserve a campsite.

PG&E operates hydro-electric plants on reservoirs throughout California.  They provide public access to many recreational opportunities around those reservoirs including campgrounds, picnic areas and boat launches.
