Spring Break at the Beach!

Where do you camp with your kidos for Spring Break?

Here are a couple of our favorite beaches for family camping:

Alexander Springs, Florida

Alexander Springs is a first-magnitude spring in north-central Florida.  Visitors can swim, snorkel, dive and camp year-round.  The crystal-clear water is a constant 72 degrees.  The adjacent campground has 66 non-electric campsites. Don't think you can keep the kids interested in camping, swimming and hiking for a week?  The Atlantic Ocean is just an hour's drive to the east and Walt Disney World is about an hour's drive to the south.

Tillicum Campground is on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.  Tillicum has a few electric/water campsites but all sites are within view of the ocean.  Watch for whales from your campsite.  Play all day on the wide, sandy beach.  Let the sound of the waves lull you to sleep.  This stretch of the Oregon coast is the most scenic with dozens of beach access points.  Ten minutes to the south is the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area with 25+ miles of hiking trails from tidepools to an 800 foot overlook.  Within about a half-hour, north or south, you'll find more beaches, tidepools, seals, sea lions, fishing, crabbing, as well as aquariums, lighthouses, shopping and restaurants.
