Big Lake and Big Lake West Campgrounds

Willamette National Forest / McKenzie River Ranger District

These campgrounds lie on the shores of Big Lake at the top of Santiam Pass in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon. Big Lake is the only natural lake in the district where water-skiing and sailing are available. Hiking the Big Lake Trail takes you to the adjacent Mt Washington Wilderness and Patjens Lake. Big Lake West is a tent-only campground with eleven sites. About half are first-come-first-served. Reserve the others at least 4 days in advance. The campground has drinking water, vault toilets and a boat ramp. Each campsite has a table and fire ring.

Big Lake Campground can accommodate RV's up to 35'. 30 of the 49 campsites may be reserved for tent or RV camping. Big Lake Campground provides drinking water, vault toilets and a picnic area at the paved boat launch.
