Marsh Lake Campground - Northern Slope Uinta Mountains

Marsh Lake Campground

Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest \ Mountain View-Evanston Ranger District

Marsh Lake is located on the northern slope of the Uinta Mountains about 24 miles south of Mountain View, Wyoming.  The campground overlooks the lake at 9,400 feet elevation.  Several thousand trees, killed by pine beetles, have been removed from the area.  The campground has more sun than shown in the photos below.

Campers enjoy fishing for rainbow and cutthroat trout from the shoreline, docks and various small boats.  A boat ramp is on the west side of the lake.  Campsites each have a picnic table and fire ring.  Drinking water, trash receptacles and vault toilets are provided.

Marsh Lake Campground is generally open from late May through Labor Day.  Some campsites are for first-come-first-served campers.  About 30 sites may be reserved up to 6 months in advance of your arrival.  One group site will accommodate up to 35 people and may be reserved up to one year in advance.  Follow the link for rates, directions, availability and current forest alerts:  Recreation.gov \ Marsh Lake

Just down the road is China Meadows Trailhead where our campers enjoy mountain biking, hiking and horseback riding.  Moose and deer frequent the area.
