Frissell Crossing Campground on South Fork McKenzie River, Oregon

Frissell Crossing Campground

Willamette National Forest \ McKenzie River Ranger District

Frissell Crossing Campground was originally built by the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) in 1934.  Located well away from the main road, Frissell is a quiet little campground on the South Fork McKenzie River.

12 campsites are well-spaced in this forested area.  7 of the sites are for first-come-first-served campers.  The others may be reserved up to 6 months, and at least 4 days, in advance of your arrival.  Each campsite has a picnic table and fire ring.   Drinking water from a hand pump, garbage container, vault toilets and creek access are also provided.

Tents and RV's are welcome but there are no electrical hookups.  Please read the rules and obey generator operation rules to maintain a peaceful campground.  Campers enjoy the playing in the river and the many hiking trails in the Three Sisters Wilderness Area.  Terwilliger Hot Springs and Cougar Reservoir are just a short drive away.
