Upper Kings River Group Campground

PG&E Kings River \ Southern Area

The Upper Kings River Group Campground is located at the base of the Wishon Reservoir Dam. Bring up to 49 of your favorite campers to enjoy fishing and hiking in the Sierra National Forest.

Drinking water, vault toilets, bear-proof food storage, picnic tables and grills are provided with a large cooking area. Tent campers enjoy fishing for German brown, rainbow or Eastern Brook trout in Wishon Reservoir. A public boat launch is available at the south end of the lake. Trailheads to the John Muir Wilderness are also found at the south end of the lake,

The campground is generally open from early June through mid-October depending on weather. PG&E begins taking reservations in early February and continues throughout the open season.
