West Lake Campground

ARAPAHO-ROOSEVELT NATIONAL FOREST \ CANYON LAKE RANGER DISTRICT

The beautiful Red Feather Lakes area lies about 45 miles northwest of Fort Collins, Colorado.  West Lake Campground has over 30 accessible campsites with electric hookups. 5 additional sites are designated for tent camping only and do not have hookups.  Some sites are right on the lake.  Each site contains a tent pad, picnic table and campfire ring with grill.  Sites are RV and tent-friendly.  Vault toilets, garbage dumpsters and drinking water are also provided.  West Lake is generally open from mid-May through late September.  About 1/3 of the sites are for first-come-first-served campers.  Other campsites may be reserved up to 6 months and at least 4 days in advance of your arrival through Recreation.gov \ west lake

West Lake is a 25-acre no-wake lake.  Rainbow and lake trout are plentiful and canoeing and fishing are popular activities here.  The nearby Dowdy Lake Campground is open year-round.

Many hiking, biking and horseback riding trails are in the surrounding area, including the 1.5-mile West Lake Trail and 4-mile Mount Margaret Trail.  Several off-road vehicle trails are located within five miles of the campground.  Red Feather Lakes Village has fuel, grocery, golf and many other tourist activities available.
