Gold Lake, east of Oakridge, OR - Virtual Tour

Gold Lake Campground

Willamette National Forest \ Middle Fork Ranger District

All 21 campsites are first-come-first-served in Gold Lake Campground.  The campground sits on a beautiful 100-acre lake in an open alpine forest.  Lake depth only reaches about 25 feet.  Motors are not allowed but it is perfect for fishing from rowboats of all kinds.  A boat ramp is available in the campground.

The 1940's CCC-built log shelter is still in good shape and provides a dry picnic area or overnight protection for cross country skiers.  Drinking water, vault toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, garbage containers and recycle center are also provided.  Find current camping rates and hiking opportunities here:  Willamette NF

Gold Lake is generally open from the 3rd week in May through mid-October.  In the spring and summer, this area abounds with wildflowers and huckleberries.  Deer, elk and other smaller wildlife enjoy the adjacent Gold Lake Bog.
