Rock Canyon Group Campground near Squaw Peak, Utah

Rock Canyon Group Campground

Uinta Wasatch Cache National Forest \ Pleasant Grove Ranger District

Rock Canyon Group is open, generally from late-May through mid-September, for group camping with a reservation.  Your large group will have access to trails, scenic vistas and wildlife in this beautifully forested campground.

The campground is perched at 6,500 feet, on the scenic Squaw Peak Road, shaded by stands of maple, scrub oak and fir.  Campers enjoy hiking and mountain biking on Rock Canyon Trail which begins in the campground.  The Squaw Peak Trail to the summit of Squaw Peak can be accessed just outside the campground.  Trail-goers also expect to encounter horses on the trails and rock climbing is very popular.

This primitive campground has no water so don't forget to bring your own.  Rock Canyon contains four group sites, each named after a notable figure in U.S. Forest Service history. Sites contain picnic tables and large campfire rings; some have serving tables.  One group is large enough to provide for up to 90 people at one time.  The other three will accommodate up to 45 each.  Vault toilets are provided. Roads and parking spurs are gravel. A host is located at nearby Hope Campground.  Follow the link to make your reservations up to 1 year in advance:  Recreation.gov \ Rock Canyon
