Last Chance Campground, Lake Almanor, No. California

Last Chance Campground

PG&E DeSabla Watershed \ Lake Almanor Area

Get away from the RV Parks and the noisy lake!  Just north of the Lake Almanor causeway near Chester, in northern California, is a little piece of camping paradise.  This quaint little campground is off the beaten RV-path, nestled in the pines along a small creek.  The 4-mile road to Last Chance is graveled and well-maintained.  There are 12 first-come-first-served campsites.  The 3 group sites are reservable through PG&E: www.pge.com/recreation.  The campground has piped drinking water, vault toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, garbage service and an on-site host to keep the restrooms clean and collect your fees.

Grab some groceries in Susanville or Chester on your way in.  Chester has a mid-sized grocery market and several great dining and fuel choices.  Susanville has larger businesses like Walmart and Safeway and more dining choices including a casino.
