Monte Cristo is a high-elevation campground at 9,000 feet.  Breathe the cool, clean, mountain air filled with the aroma of spruce and Douglas fir.  Quaking aspen, meadows of wildflowers and Sugar Pine Creek are nearby.  45 single-family campsites are available for first-come-first-served campers.  2 large group sites can accommodate up to 100 people per site.  Make reservations for your group up to 1 year in advance through Recreation.gov \ Monte Cristo

Monte Cristo Campground is generally open for reservations from late June or early July through Labor Day.  If the weather permits, it may stay open through the elk and deer hunting seasons.  There are beautiful trails in the area for hiking, horseback riding and ATV's.  Horses are not allowed in the campground and ATV's must be trailered a mile or more from the campground.  Campers enjoy a peaceful campground.

Picnic tables, fire rings, flush and vault toilets, garbage disposal and drinking water are provided in the campground.
