Dowdy Lake Campground

Arapaho-Roosevelt National Forest / Canyon Lake Ranger District

A portion of Dowdy Lake Campground is open year-round.  The price is discounted in the winter when drinking water is turned off.  Ten campsites are designated for Tents Only.  The remaining campsites have electrical hookups.  Each site also includes a tent pad, picnic table and campfire ring with grill.  Campsites can accommodate most RV's.

Dowdy is a popular lake for canoeing and fishing.  Motorized boats are allowed on the lake but a 10 mph speed limit is enforced.  Campers enjoy fishing for brown, brook, cutthroat and lake trout.

Several off-road vehicle trails are located within 5 miles of the campground.  Hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding trails are also plentiful in the area; including the 4-mile Mount Margaret Trail.

Dowdy Lake Campground is one of the most popular campgrounds in the Canyon Lakes Ranger District and often fills up throughout the week during summer months.  Make your reservations at least 4 days in advance of your arrival.

Located 48 miles northwest of Ft Collins, Colorado, Dowdy Lake is in the scenic Red Feather Lakes area of the Rocky Mountains.
