Looking for a remote campground along the Coeur d'Alene River in the Idaho Panhandle? You'll find Devil's Elbow about 30 miles north of the historic town of Wallace; where Dante's Peak was filmed. Wallace is also on the world famous Hiawatha Bike Trail built on an old railroad route through the Bitterroot Mountains.
Campers come to Devil's Elbow to get away from it all. The river provides beautiful opportunities for tubing and fly fishing. Cutthroat trout are catch 'n release only. Fern Falls and Shadow Falls trails are a few miles up the road. Wildlife and wildflowers are prevalent in and around this improved campground. Roads and parking spurs are paved and campsites have a picnic table and fire pit. You can make reservations for the group site, for up to 50 people, through Recreation.gov. Bring your reservation confirmation paper with you as there is no cell service to access it on your phone.
Closest dump station is Shoshone; 8 miles south of Devil's Elbow Campground. There is a fee for dumping.
