River Edge Campground, Central Coast, Oregon

River Edge Group Campground

Siuslaw National Forest \ Central Coast Ranger District

River Edge Group Campground is for reservation-only camping.  The site can accommodate up to 100 people at one time.  There is a large pavilion and a huge, grassy, playing field lined with trees to shade your tents.  There is access to the gently flowing Alsea River for swimming, fishing and catching crawdads; including a boat slide for your non-motorized boats.

Fall Creek is just a few minutes east of the campground.  You'll find a beautiful display and interpretive signs about the salmon research center just past the falls.

A fun day at the beach is a short 23 miles to Waldport where you'll find sandy beaches, harbor seals, crabbing and boat access to Alsea Bay as well as a variety of dining.  Just 20 more minutes north to the Newport aquariums or 10 minutes south to Yachats and the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area.

Be sure to get a car pass from your Campground Host.  The car pass can be used for parking in the state and federal day use areas along the Oregon Coast.

Make your reservations up to a year in advance through www.recreation.gov or call 1-877-444-6777.
