Whiting Campground near Mapleton, UT - Virtual Tour

Whiting Campground

Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest \ Spanish Fork Ranger District

Whiting Campground is nestled in a dense grove of maple and cottonwood trees.  The delightful shade in Maple Canyon provides a respite from the valley heat.  Campers enjoy hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding on the nearby Maple Canyon Trail.  A small network of trails provide scenic views of the Wasatch mountains and canyons.

25 sites are mostly first-come-first-served but a few may be reserved up to 6 months in advance of your arrival.  2 large group sites are also available for reservation within a year of arrival.  1 holds up to 100 people, the other can accommodate up to 200.  Check prices and availability on Recreation.gov.

The equestrian sites have hitching racks but do not have a coral.  Horse trailers cannot be parked onsite; rather in an off-site lot.

Drinking water is provided in the campground but cannot be used to fill up your RV.  The campground has vault toilets and each campsite has a picnic table and fire ring on a cement pad.  This is a pack-it-in/pack-it-out campground as there are no garbage containers.  Please bring your own garbage bags.
