Narrows Campground

Arapaho-Roosevelt National Forest \ Canyon Lakes Ranger District

The Cache la Poudre River is known for whitewater rafting and fishing.  Brown, cutthroat and rainbow trout are plentiful here.  Many hiking, biking and horseback riding trails are in the surrounding area, including the Mt. McConnel Trail, William R. Kreutzer National Recreation Trail and Young Gulch Trail.

The Narrows Campground is generally open from the 3rd week in May through late September.  Just 32 miles northwest of Fort Collins, on the Cache la Poudre River, the setting varies from dense forest to open meadow and is surrounded by steep mountains.  The lower section is for tent camping only and consists of 8 walk-in sites.  A common parking area has a restroom and water hydrant and foot-paths that lead to the individual campsites.  The upper section consists of 7 campsites and 7 picnic sites.  There is no charge to use the day use area.  All sites are reservable from Memorial Day through Labor Day and first-come-first-served outside that range.  Each site is equipped with a 12x15' tent pad, a picnic table and a campfire ring with grill.  Restrooms are accessible vault toilets.  Find rates and more information on Recreation.gov.
