Clark Fork Campgrounds near Dardanelle, CA

Clark Fork Campground\Clark Fork Horse Camp

Stanislaus National Forest \ Summit Ranger District

Both Clark Fork and Clark Fork Horse Camp are first-come-first-served campgrounds.  Clark Fork Campground has 28 sites with a picnic table and stove in each.  The campground has piped drinking water, garbage dumpsters, vault toilets in Loop A and flush toilets in Loop B.  The horse camp is a more primitive campground; most sites do not have a picnic table, there is no potable water but there is a horse watering trough and vault toilets among the 13 campsites.  An RV dump station is located on the entrance road to Clark Fork Campground. Campers staying at Clark Fork or Sand Flat Campgrounds may use the dump station without charge. Other users are charged a modest fee.

From October through about the 3rd week in April visitors may camp for free in Loop A of Clark Fork Campground and Sand Flat Campground, however, there are no services; campers must pack out their own garbage.

Many hiking trails provide spectacular views along the Clark Fork River and the Highway 108 Corridor.  Clark Fork Horse Camp provides easy access to the Carson-Iceberg trail system via the Iceberg Meadow Trailhead at the end of Clark Fork Road.  Check out the USDA Forest Service website for directions and current forest alerts and warnings:  Clark Fork Campground
