This unique campground is nestled on the east shore of Kingfisher Island, a large island in the southwest arm of Flaming Gorge Reservoir.  The only access is by boat.  The campground has 8, first-come-first-served, tent campsites.  Enjoy gorgeous views, hiking, swimming, boating and fishing from Kingfisher Campground.  Other boat-in campgrounds on Flaming Gorge include:  Hideout Canyon, Jarvies

Flaming Gorge Reservoir is popular with fishermen for mackinaw (lake trout), Utah chub, rainbow trout, channel catfish, and smallmouth bass. The Green River below the dam is one of the best trout streams in the country, and is also popular among rafters and kayakers.  Sheep Canyon Geological Area, just west of the National Recreation Area, features stunning scenic panoramas, framed by colorfully-striated cliffs.  No drinking water is available in the campground.  Please bring your own drinking water.  Kingfisher has new docks.
